With the beginning of the new year, Mahindra and Mahindra, the country’s leading vehicle manufacturer, has started updating its electric vehicle portfolio. Today, the company has launched a new version of its popular electric SUV, the Mahindra XUV400 EV, in the market. The company has made several significant changes in this SUV, making it even better than the previous model. With its attractive look and powerful battery pack, the price of this SUV ranges from 15.49 lakh rupees to 17.49 lakh rupees.

The company has recently launched this SUV with an introductory price, which will be valid until May 31, 2024. After that, the company may update the prices. The booking for the Mahindra XUV400 EV Pro range will start tomorrow at 2 PM and interested customers can book it with a token amount of Rs. 21,000 through the company’s official website or authorized dealerships. The company will begin delivering this SUV from February 1St.

How is the new Mahindra XUV400 EV

As we mentioned earlier, the company has given it a major update, updating its dashboard with new features. However, there doesn’t seem to be any changes in its mechanics. In addition, the look and design are pretty much the same as before. Speaking of changes, it now has a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, which gives the dashboard a fresh look. Additionally, the AC vents have been placed below the touchscreen, which used to be visible on the sides until now.

The company has introduced a brand-new HVAC panel, which now features two rotary dials instead of one big unit. In addition, it comes with a new Multi-Information Display (MID) as an extra feature. This SUV, with its black and beige dual-tone interior, has been given a glossy black garnish by the company. The cabin also has ample space for copper accents, giving it a slightly premium look.

The steering wheel has also been adorned with a new flat bottom unit, featuring a new 10.25 digital instrument console. What’s special is that both screens run on the in-house Adrenox software of the company, which you first saw in the XUV700.

In addition to its memory function, dual zone climate control, wireless phone charger, and Alexa connectivity, the USB port in the previous section make this SUV even better. The company has made significant changes to the cabin of this SUV, while its exterior remains the same as before.

As we mentioned earlier, no mechanical changes have been made to the Mahindra XUV400 EV Pro. Both variants of the Mahindra XUV400 EV Pro come with a front axle-mounted electric motor. This electric motor generates a power of 150hp and a torque of 310Nm. It comes with disc brakes for all four wheels, regenerative braking, and three drive modes. The company claims that it is the fastest in the non-luxury segment with its acceleration. This SUV can reach 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. Its top speed is 150 km/h.

In EC Pro, you get a battery of 34.5kWh, while in EL Pro, you get a bigger battery of 39.4kWh. The EC Pro variant offers a range of 375 kilometres on a single charge, while the bigger battery pack variant can travel up to 456 kilometres on a single charge. Mahindra has strengthened the variant lineup by offering a standard fast 7.2kW AC charger with both variants.

When it comes to size, it has a length of 4200 mm and a wheelbase of 2600 mm. The company claims that it provides the best-in-class boot space of 378/418 litres. It comes with 3 intelligent drive modes, named Fun, Fast, and Fearless. The ‘Lively Mode’ is a feature introduced for the first time in this segment, which enables easy navigation in heavy traffic.

The Mahindra XUV400 EV comes with several segment-first features, including 6 airbags, ESP, TPMS, and auto-dimming. It is equipped with 4 disc brakes, ISO-fix seats, IRVM, fast-charging, IP67 rated water-proof battery pack, and motor, making it even better. In addition to this, it also has auto-dimming, cruise control, R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, Blue sense+ (connected car tech with smartwatch connectivity), leather seats, rear-view camera, and electric sunroof. This SUV will compete with Tata Nexon EV in the market.
